Research Centers of America (RCA) is a privately owned, multi-specialty research site that conducts Phase I – IV clinical trials.

RCA inpatient and outpatient studies are made up of healthy and special populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric age groups.

Our outpatient facility spans approximately 10,000 sq. ft. and is associated with Ventre Medical Associates (VMA), a large outpatient clinic consisting of 7 psychiatrists and 5 mid-level clinicians.  RCA also collaborates with multiple medical specialists in South Florida.

We have a database of 15,000 volunteers, advertising capabilities, and a dedicated call center.

Our Clinical Research Capabilities

Our mission is to be the best-in-class clinical research site contributing to the development of new medications by conducting trials at the highest ethical standards.

RCA outpatient and inpatient sites specialize in Phase I-IV clinical trials for all diagnoses in various ages ranging from child and adolescents to geriatric subjects. Our outpatient facility spans over 10,000 sq. ft. and is associated with Ventre Medical Associates (VMA), a large outpatient clinic consisting of 7 psychiatrist and 5 mid-level clinicians.

RCA conducts inpatient clinical trials in our onsite Ph I unit or at a nearby hospital. This freestanding psychiatric hospital has over 240 beds of which 14 beds are located in a dedicated research unit. RCA physicians, ARNPs, and PAs are credentialed to provide services at this inpatient facility. RCA works closely and collaboratively with the inpatient hospital to ensure appropriate study conduct and patient safety at all times. We conduct ongoing didactics, trainings, and provide support to hospital staff and administration in regards to current protocols conducted at the hospital.

Peter Ventre, MD

Founder

Dr. Peter Ventre is the Founder of Research Centers of America.  He has built a strong reputation over the years within the research community as being a diligent and insightful investigator.   With experience in more than 100 clinical trials, he ensures excellent patient care and thorough involvement in the research process.

Howard Schwartz, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr Schwartz is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and practiced in South Florida for over 30 years and is now focusing to make RCA the premier research site in South Florida. He has lectured and published extensively on many of the clinical trials he has participated in.  Additionally, he served as an industry consultant and served on numerous Data Safety Management Boards.

David J. Seiden, MD

Investigator

Dr. Seiden is a Neurologist and recognized expert in the field of Sleep Medicine and serves as Medical Director for Baptist Health Sleep Centers of South Florida.

Maria DePombo, MD

Investigator

Dr. Maria DePombo is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who joined Research Centers of America in 2018 where she serves as a Principal and Sub-investigator. Her areas of research focus on patients suffering from Depression, Bipolar, Schizophrenia and substance disorders.

Nelson Cordero-Torres, MD

Principal Investigator

  • Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Licensed to prescribe Controlled Substances and Suboxone

Dr. Cordero has delved into clinical research since starting with RCA and is currently one of RCA’s Principal Investigators. He has experience with over 50 clinical trials and always maintains abreast on current research in CNS. Dr. Cordero’s experience and leadership pave the way for success in conducting clinical trials at RCA.

Sandeep Mendiratta, MD

Principal Investigator

Dr. Mendiratta has served as sub-investigator for the majority of RCA’s clinical trials in both the outpatient and inpatient settings for a variety of diagnoses including schizophrenia, ADHD, substance abuse and depression. His expertise in these areas have led to several features

Inna Ozerov, MD

Sub-Investigator

Dr. Inna Ozerov is a Sub-Investigator at Research Centers of America.  She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical corneal diseases, with a particular interest in the treatment of Keratoconus and Dry Eye Syndrome.

Janeen Rosales, MS, CCRC

Chief Executive Officer

Janeen Rosales is the Chief Executive Officer for Research Centers of America.  She oversees all divisions; including Early and Late Phase Clinical Trial Implementation, Business Development, Quality Assurance/Control, Regulatory, Data Management, Marketing and Recruitment, Pharmacy, and Laboratory Services.

Dunia Torres

Lab Manager

Dunia Torres joined Research Centers of America in 2018 as the Lab Manager.  She oversees specimen collection, processing, and storage.  She also monitors and maintains temperature, calibration, and equipment lists.  She has worked in the research field for over 13 years and has worked on hundreds of research studies.  She is a Medical Assistant with certifications in Phlebotomy and EKG.

Aymee Perez, PhD

PBMC Laboratory Director

Dr. Perez has a PhD in Biological Sciences and worked at the University of Miami for more than 20 years as a scientist on various research projects. She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals. Her professional experience includes basic and translational research, staff management, clinical research studies, and presentation in scientific meetings.

Terry Piedra, BS, CCRC

Project Manager/Business Development

Terry has over 17 years of clinical research experience. As an ACRP Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, Terry was Senior Coordinator for dozens of high enrolling vaccine clinical trials. Since 2009 Terry has been managing a Vaccine Division as Project Manager. She directly oversees all vaccine trials from planning through completion and ensures the highest level of quality.

Dawn Snyder, MPH, CHES

Director of Community Outreach

Dawn Snyder serves as the Director of Community Outreach for Research Centers of America.  She acts as the primary point of contact, liaison, and organizer for community events.  Her role consists of engaging and educating the community about the site’s mission and available clinical research study options.

Monica Garces, B.S., MBA

Regulatory Specialist

Monica is Research Center of America’s regulatory specialist.  She works together with the different site departments in the preparation, organization and maintenance of all essential documents.  This ensures that all clinical trials are conducted in compliance with FDA, IRB, and ICH regulations and guidelines.

Laura Raucci, BS, CCRP

Quality Assurance and Data Manager

As the Quality Assurance and Data Manager, Laura oversees the quality of Research Centers of America’s conduct in clinical trials.

Gustavo Rodriguez, B.A. CCRP

Operations Manager

Mr. Rodriguez began his research career at the University of Florida with the Department of Neurology in 1996. In the last 20 years has worked in over 200 clinical trials, has served as a rater training consultant, recruitment and retention speaker, and sop training and development. Mr. Rodriguez joined in 2017 and has been responsible for quality assurance training, and day to day operations.
